Churches of our Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, Inc.

Bishop William R. Jenkins, a passionate and dynamic teacher, anointed preacher, and visionary, was appointed Diocesan Bishop of the East Texas Diocese Churches of our Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, Inc., July 2009.  He was born in Peekskill, New York in October 1947 to the parents of Elder Rufus and Bessie Jenkins. 

Bishop Jenkins currently serves as pastor of Holy Temple of our Lord Jesus Christ in Killeen Texas. 

Education Pursuits include the following: 

  • September 2004 - February 2005, Pastoral Theology, WL Bonner College, Columbia SC.

  • February 1999, received certification as a Psychotherapist from the American Psychotherapy Association (APA).

  • August 1994 - May 1996, pursuit of Masters of Science degree in Psychology, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Belton, Texas.

  • August 1993 - August 1994, pursuit of Masters of Science degree in Counseling Psychology University of Central Texas, Killeen, Texas.

  • July 1991 - December 1992, Bachelors of Science degree in Social Science, University of Central Texas, Killeen, Texas.

  • May 1978 - May 1981, Associate of Science Degree in Business Management, Austin Peay State University in Clarkesville, Tennessee.

  • October 1976 - October 1978, Studies in Social Psychology at the University of Maryland European Division.

Bishop Jenkins is credit with starting three churches.  The first church was started in June1973 in West Germany.  The second was started in Clarksville, Tennessee, and the third was started in Killeen Texas.  Of course the first church and those that followed were named “Holy Temple of our Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith.” 

While in Germany, Bishop Jenkins served as the Chairman of the Minority Ministry Council.  The Council consisted of religious leaders from across denominational lines (Baptist, United Pentecostal, Methodist, Pentecostal Assembly of the World, Church of God in Christ and the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ).

Bishop Jenkins also served in the United States Army from January 1967 to September 1989.  He was selected for Sergeant Major (E-9) but elected to retire.  Military decorations include: Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, and Good Conduct Medal with three Bronze service stars, NCO Professional Development Ribbon Numeral 3, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation Badge with Palm, and an Expert Rifle Badge.

My hope for this dynamic organization is to continue our apostolic legacy, achieve excellence in ministry, and fulfill our destiny in world evangelism.

Bishop Jenkins is married to Mother Evangeline Jenkins.  They have five children: Kammye, William, Kendra, Everett, and Warren.  Bishop and Mother Jenkins have been blessed with five grandchildren.
