Doctrine

Galatians 1:6-8 (KJV) I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

Holy Temple is affiliated with the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, Inc. The basic of our creed, discipline, rules of order and doctrine is the Word of God as taught in scripture and revealed by the Holy Spirit.

The Bible is the word of God and contains one harmonious and sufficiently complete system of doctrine. We hold that the word of God is the only authority in all matters and assert that no doctrine can be true or essential, if it does not have its base in the word of God.

The Word of God is absolutely essential to salvation. It is the bases for fellowship, spiritual growth, and effectiveness in service and ministry. We believe that the most important function of this local church is consistent teaching and study of the Word of God.

1 Timothy 4:6-7 (KJV) If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained. 7 But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.

The study of the Word of God is the channel for fellowship with God and effective ministry to one another and to the world. The study of the Word of God should not be taken lightly, overlooked or placed in a secondary role in respect to the interest of social concerns, action, or activities.

Psalm 119:1 (KJV) Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.

Psalm 138:2 (KJV) I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy loving kindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

Romans 15:4 (KJV) For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

Romans 16:25-26 (KJV) Now to him that is of power to establish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, 26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

1 Thessalonians 2:13 (KJV) For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

1 Timothy 1:5 (KJV) Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

2 Timothy 3:15-17 (KJV) And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

This local church endeavors to function as an autonomous, Apostolic Pentecostal, Bible believing church, committed to the fundamental truths recorded in the Holy Scripture.
